The Theological Librarianship Editorial Board Welcomes Three New Editors

The American Theological Library Association (ATLA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer L. Woodruff Tait, Barnaby Hughes, and Keegan Osinski to the Editorial Board of Theological Librarianship: An Online Journal of the American Theological Library Association.

New Issue of Theological Librarianship Available

The new issue of Theological Librarianship (TL) is now availableTL, an online journal of ATLA, is an open access journal publishing essays, columns, critical reviews, bibliographic essays, and peer-reviewed articles on various aspects of theological librarianship and its contribution to theological education.

The issue covers such topics as Online Resources for the Study of Chinese Religion and Philosophy, Catholic Pamphlets at the Hesburgh Libraries, and Supporting Digital Humanities for Knowledge Acquisition in Modern Libraries, to name a few.

New ATLA Publishing Program

ATLA’s core purpose is to promote worldwide scholarly communication in religion and theology by advancing the work of libraries and related information providers. In support of this purpose, we are expanding our publishing efforts and announcing the creation of the ATLA Publishing Program.

This program will serve professionals engaged in librarianship and scholarly communication, students, scholars, and religious professionals in the disciplines of religion and theology by publishing original content (books, journals, newsletters, yearbooks, reports, white papers, etc.).

The Deadline for Proceedings Extended

With the new school year in full swing, we understand that your schedule has become exponentially busier. As such, we have extended the deadline for the 2016 Summary of Proceedings.

Submit your 2016 ATLA Annual Conference presentations and/or committee and group reports for the 2016 Summary of Proceedings by Friday, September 30. 

2016 Summary of Proceedings Submissions Due September 9

As the new school year begins, we invite you to make some time in your busy schedule to submit your 2016 ATLA Annual Conference presentations and/or committee and group reports for the 2016 Summary of Proceedings. The Proceedings is a historical record of the ATLA Annual Conference.

Submissions for the Proceedings are due by Friday, September 9, 2016.

Theology Cataloging Bulletin Available

The August 2016 issue of Theology Cataloging Bulletin (TCB), a benefit of membership, is now available. Please click here to access this issue in the member restricted section of the ATLA website.

Section one of each issue lists new and changed subject headings and genre/form terms and section two lists new and changed classifications. Both are selected and compiled by Ann Heinrichs (Catholic Theological Union, Chicago, Illinois). Section three includes general information, including professional development opportunities,  and is edited by Leslie Engelson (Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky). Arthur (AJ) Boston, Scholarly Communication Librarian, Waterfield Library, Murray State University, submitted a testimony, Personal Collection Development.

We invite submissions of 2016 ATLA Annual Conference presentations and/or committee and group reports for the 2016 Summary of Proceedings. The Proceedings is a historical record of the ATLA Annual Conference.

Step 3: *New* Post your presentation, including PowerPoint, handouts, etc., directly onto SCHEDFollow the instructions here. Please note: these files will not be included in the 2016 Proceedings.

FY15 Annual Report Available

The American Theological Library Association’s (ATLA) 2014-2015 Annual Report is available to download.

The report highlights the many accomplishments of the Association, including the work of Association’s committees and improvements to ATLA’s products.
