The ATLA Products Blog: The Shaker Quarterly

ATLA offers a prestigious product line of electronic resources to support the scholarly study of religion and theology and we want to share with you the stories behind the journals that have been carefully curated for our users. So, we have created the ATLA Products Blog to give an insider’s perspective and spotlight just some of the journals found in our databases.

We begin this blog with the stories behind our newest product offering, ATLASerials PLUS™ (ATLAS PLUS™), which was announced in November along with plans to integrate the ATLA Catholic Periodical and Literature Index® (ATLA CPLI®) into the ATLA Religion Database (ATLA RDB)®.

Shakers: Digitizing a Legacy of Religion and Community

ATLA is honored to have participated in the digitization of the Quarterly with the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village community. We are just as excited to make the entire archive available online for the first time ever in the ATLASerials PLUS™ (ATLAS PLUS™) full-text collection.

Published by the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village from 1961 to 1996, Shaker Quarterly was the preeminent journal, newsletter, and occasional catalog of the Shaker community. Focused on Shaker history, religion, and theology, this journal provides a record of a Shaker legacy.
