Dr. Beth Bidlack Named Associate Academic Dean, Union Theological Seminary

Dr. Beth Bidlack, member of the ATLA Board of Directors, joins the Union Theological Seminary as Associate Academic Dean beginning August 1.

Beth has served as the Director of the Burke Library at Union Theological Seminary in New York since February 2013. She has held professional positions at the Dartmouth College Library, the University of Chicago Library, Bangor Theological Seminary, and the Episcopal Divinity School/Weston Jesuit School of Theology Library.  Beth received an MS in Library and Information Science and Certificate in Special Collections from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; a PhD in Religious and Theological Studies from Boston University; an MTS from Boston University School of Theology; and a BA in Religion and Philosophy from Urbana University.

Beth has served on the ATLA Board of Directors since 2011 as Vice President in 2012 and then as President in 2013 and 2014. She previously served on the former Publications Committee and Collection Evaluation and Development Interest Group. Her service to ATLA and to Theological Librarianship cannot be quantified and we are so grateful for her years of service.
